Dr. Michael Obamwonyi, General Overseer and founder of M.O.G.O. Ministries, is a humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is a husband and a father to two boys and two girls — Osamuyi, Etinosa, Asanti and Kayla.

His heart is filled with the love and compassion of Christ for lost souls, the poor in spirit, orphans, widows and the underprivileged.

The work of an evangelist

At an early age he began the work of an evangelist under the leadership of the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa of the Church of God Mission, Nigeria — going from street to street, from wine parlors to drinking houses, proclaiming the full gospel of Jesus and the salvation granted by His blood.

He also recalls the Sunday fellowship on the Ohio State campus with his older brother Andrew, his in-law and a couple of others — a fellowship that paved the way for the African Bible Fellowship, which would soon spread over all the campuses in America.

Wilderness and witness

He has had his ups and downs and wilderness experiences; through it all he has stayed loving the Lord and completely sold out in his present day. By the grace of God, he has been used in several capacities in several meeting places of God's children.

By calling, you see the work of an evangelist — reaching out to the unchurched, to undesirable locations and countries. You see the calling and work of an apostle, as evidenced by the church plants in Texas, India and Nigeria.

To God be all the glory.
